Cyber law of India is incorporated in the information technology act, 2000 (IT Act 2000) of India. Although the IT Act 2000 was enacted in the year 2000 yet it has to catch the speed to be effective in India. Lawyers, judges, police officers, etc need to update themselves with the nitty-gritty of cyber law.According to Praveen Dalal, the leading cyber law expert of India, one area that requires special attention is the cyber law awareness in India. Presently, there is absence of cyber law awareness in India. For instance, very few people and organisations are aware that we have CRAT to adjudicate upon disputes arising out of IT Act, 2000. We have launched a platform for cyber law awareness as well as spreading words about CRAT, informs Dalal.
CRAT needs to take pro active steps to spread awareness about cyber law as well as adjudicating mechanisms arising out of the same.
